I get asked this a lot--dental insurance has never been formulated like Medical, the benefits can be pretty limited. And premiums, pretty costly! Dental HMOs can be a great deal but like Medical HMOs, you have fewer providers to choose from.
Dental PPOs are good, but pricey for what you get. So depending on your need, your situation, if you don't have dental offered by an employer (those plans are a bit better than individual dental plans) my suggestions is to consider a dental discount plan.
Check out my DentalPlans.com website. What I really like about this is you can check out several discount plans at once, either by your zip code or if you have dentist you like, put their name in,do a search, and see what discount plans they participate with. Two good things about dental discount plans:
No waiting periods
No annual maximum benefits
Rates for these types of plans are great for what you are getting. For an individual, most are under $100 per yearand for a family, under $200/year. It's all a matter of what will fit your situation best.
DentalPlans.com--do it today, you can be active within a couple of days with most of these. Just in time for that next visit!
